PMO - is it “Project” or “Programme” Management Office?

Explic8 Limited can assist you to decide if you need “Project” or “Programme” Management or Both

We all get confused about the meaning of PMO.

Commonly, the “P” in PMO is taken to refer to the word Project. But it also has another meaning referring to Programme or Portfolio Management Office.

A Project Management Office is a team that provides project management support at the project level, and, to each project, provides a project manager to ensure delivery within scope, within budget, on schedule and in line with stakeholder goals, whilst at an organisational level, owns and maintains project management standards, methods and tools.

A Programme Management Office manages and supports a programme or portfolio of projects that are operating concurrently.

While Project Management Offices support projects, Programme Management Offices have a broader remit ensuring that the benefits from projects/programmes are delivered and sustained, and that return on investment (ROI) is achieved. Programme Management Offices have the added responsibility of supporting organisations in achieving strategic goals.

Explic8 Limited consultants have many years of successful Project and Programme Management experience in both design and implementation and can support your organisation with either, or both.
